Linux and HPC Workshop
October 21, 2021 @ 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm AEDT
About this event
Is your personal computer crashing or freezing regularly when you are undertaking analysis of your research data? Do you have enough memory and computer capacity to run your analysis? You might need the help of High Performance Computing (HPC) to speed up your analysis and enhance the efficiency of your research.
Before you can use HPC, you need some familiarity with Linux, an operating system that allows you to run commands and complete repetitive tasks quickly and efficiently.
This 2.5 hour online workshop will cover the fundamentals of the Linux operating system and how to use those skills to write a script, submit, run and monitor a task on La Trobe University’s LIMS-HPC system. The first portion of the workshop will be devoted to Linux and the second portion will focus on HPC job creation and submission.
You must have a La Trobe University email address in order to attend this workshop. Please use this email address when registering.
